Mr.
Jain: Apar India was established
in 1998, with a mission of providing quality
education in the true literal sense that
is imparting knowledge, skills and instilling
the moral values of Shiksha, Sanskaar
and Sewa in the students. The Institute
provides University Degrees duly affiliated
to Sikkim Manipal University in the field
of Management, IT and Journalism. At present
we are catering to more than 1000 students
who are pursuing MBA, BBA, MCA. BCA. BSc.IT,
BA and MA in Journalism and Mass Communication.

is the specialty of Sikkim Manipal University? |

The Sikkim
Manipal University was established in
1995. It was set up in partnership between
the Government of Sikkim and the Manipal
Education and Medical Group. The University
is offering Higher Education Programs
in association with Manipal Academy of
Higher Education and Manipal Universal
Learning as a part of its efforts to bring
education to masses and fulfill the growing
demand for professional education. The
programs offered by the University combine
highly researched curriculum integrated
with industry relevant concepts and practices.

? |

Mr.
Jain: The Sikkim Manipal University
of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences,
Gangtok is incorporated under the State
Legislative Act (Act IX of 1995) of the
Government of Sikkim. It is recognized by
the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development
and also by the University Grants Commission
(U. G. C.). The Sikkim Manipal University’s
Degrees/Diplomas/Certificates are recognized
by all members of the Association of Indian
Universities (AIU) and are at par with Degrees/Diplomas/Certificates
of all Indian Universities/Deemed Universities/Institutions
vide UGC Circular no. FI-B/92 (CPP) dt.
February 1992 and AIU Circular no. EV/B
(449)/94/176915-177115 dated January 1994. |

How
would the student benefit by taking an admission
at Apar India for the professional degree
courses? |

Mr.
Jain: Taking an admission at Apar
India and pursuing a professional course
on a regular pattern would entitle the students
for triple certification – a UGC recognized
university degree from SMU, industry oriented
autonomous Diploma provided by Apar India
and certificates for job-oriented courses.
All these are being provided to the students
without charging any tuition fees. Only
the University fee is payable. |

What
is the eligibility criteria for admission?
Do you have any entrance examination? |
| |
Mr.
Jain: There are no entrance examinations.
The students can take a direct admission
irrespective of the stream of education
and the percentage.
For the Undergraduate courses, the student
should have cleared the XIIth class and
for the post-graduate course, the student
should be a graduate. The emphasis is on
giving the student the opportunity to fulfill
his dreams provided he is ready to put in
hard work and should be regular. The percentage
scored in the XII std. is not treated as
the barometer of the students’ caliber
and a low or average percentage should not
put an end to the students’ dreams.

What
other facilities are being provided to the
students of Apar India? |

Mr.
Jain: The students get the benefit
of regular classes for five days a week.
The Institute organizes regular workshops
and seminars on Personality Development,
Yoga, Presentation skills and Group Discussions
conducted by eminent and experienced faculty.
In addition, the students are taken to Industrial
visits to give first hand knowledge to students.
The job oriented certificate courses are
also provided that would enable the students
to get the cutting edge that is required
in today’s job market. We are offering
Free Certificate Courses in Communication
Skills, Foreign Languages – German
and French, Basics of Financial Accounting,
Basics of Hardware and Networking, Management
of Office Administration, Personality Development.

of classes? |

Jain: The working Professionals
can take the benefit of classes that are
being conducted on weekends. |

the students coming from other distant states,
do you have separate hostel facilities for
boys and girls? |
| |
Mr.
Jain: Yes, we have separate hostel / PG
accommodation facilities for boys and girls.
As a matter of fact, even to this date we
have students who have come from as far
as Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Varanasi, Aligarh,
Meerut, Calcutta, Thailand, Abu Dhabi etc
to name a few. We have been providing lodging
facilities to these students and serve as
local guardians to these students. |

about the Placement facilities? |

The
Institute has a full-fledged Training &
Placement Cell. The Cell is actively involved
in continuously studying the market forces.
A vibrant placement cell provides the necessary
linkage between the students and the Industry.
We also counsel our students for better
career prospects. Some of the Aparians are
placed in companies like GAIL, Mother Dairy,
Indian Oil Corporation Limited, IBM, Birla
Soft, MTNL, HDFC Bank Ltd., Indian Air Force,
Eureka Forbes and Seimens etc. |
